We match mentors (individuals deeply rooted in Swedish civil society and nonprofit sectors) with foreign-background professionals for a three-month programme.Through personalized guidance and sustained support, this programme aims to equip talented newcomers with insider knowledge to open doors, navigate and contribute to Sweden’s social impact sector.
NOTE: We don’t place people in jobs. We equip them to create their own opportunities in Swedish civil society.
Skilled immigrants face a 5–10 year employment gap in Sweden, longer in the non-profit sector where integration demands local networks, language and cultural fluency, recognized credentials, and sector-specific credibility. These invisible barriers keep motivated professionals on the sidelines when civil society needs their talents most.It is what the SiN Mentorship Programme is trying to address.
We are a vibrant and diverse community of 150+ nonprofit professionals, activists, and changemakers in Stockholm and beyond. Started in 2021, our network is an informal, volunteer-led initiative, built on the power of connection, collaboration, and shared learning. Our Mentorship Programme connects professionals newly arrived in Stockholm with experienced mentors to accelerate their integration into Sweden’s social‑impact sector. It is led by Ekansh Gupta, Victor Reyes and Cécile Pillon Hue as volunteer coordinators, and Elizabeth Wright Veintimilla, Karin Bruce and Helena Samaras as advisory board.
